"I am not amused," Megatron snarled angrily, his white face and burning optics filling the majority of the terminal's screen.
"Good," Shockwave responded from his own side of the connection, "because it would hardly be prudent to waste my time trying to amuse you."
One crimson optic twitched. "Was that sarcasm? From you?" Megatron growled. "I'm not sure whether to be even angrier or disturbed."
"Merely stating facts, Lord Megatron."
"I don't have time for this, Shockwave!"
"Fact: you have been focusing entirely too much time and resources on the Autobot forces in Iacon when I have proven to you that Altihex is a much more worthwhile target currently. Fact: you, in turn, are wasting his time and resources when his skills and abilities could be much better put to use in the gathering of information for the strategies involving Altihex and Nova Cronum."
"Fact," Megatron rumbled with barely contained rage, "I am the leader of this army because the actions I take and strategies I plan are the ones that work. Now, release my communications specialist, or I will come over there and see to it personally that you don't question my authority again!"
Behind Shockwave, Soundwave watched the argument unfold with no small amount of amusement. This seemed to happen several times a vorn - each one thought he could use Soundwave's talents and abilities more efficiently, and Shockwave often ended up "abducting" him until Megatron either listened to his advice and took it seriously or came after Soundwave himself - in which case, he still had to listen to Shockwave's recommendations; he just denied it more vehemently in that scenario.
He might have found it annoying if it was not so amusing.
"Perhaps if you would simply listen to reason for a change, I would not have to resort to this," Shockwave was saying.
"I listen to those who have earned the right to my consideration, and your behavior is not making me eager to include you in that short list, Shockwave."
"I find your lack of faith disturbing. My 'behavior', as you put it, is for the greater good of the Decepticon cause, as well as Cybertron's future, and you cannot deny that when you follow my suggestions, there are fewer casualties as well as less waste of resources and time."
"That still doesn't excuse detaining Soundwave, and-" Megatron cut himself off with a snarl. "I am not going to sit here and argue anymore. I'll be there in two orns to retrieve Soundwave, and if you continue to defy me, Shockwave, I will not be held accountable for my actions!" He did not wait for Shockwave to respond, cutting off the connection as soon as he was finished speaking.
Shockwave looked at the blank screen calmly for a brief klik before he mused aloud, "The only action he is being held accountable for is his ignominious weakness for a certain communications specialist."
To this, Soundwave could not help but respond, "Indeed."
